Are You Suffering From Migraine??

Hey guys, hope you are doing well.

“I am suffering from migraine”, we heard this frequently. What is exactly a migraine?

More than 10 million Indians are suffering from migraine every year. I, myself, also suffering from migraine.

When you are directly exposed to the sun, or after a long gap between food or it can be also stress-induced. If one of your parents suffers from it, then there are 75% chances that you will also experience it. Women are more prone to migraine than men. Some women also suffer it during or after pregnancy due to hormonal changes.

If you have a frequent headache, most probably on one side, with nausea and vomiting. Sometimes neck pain and tingling numbness in hands. You may be sensitive to light and sound. These symptoms can stay from an hour to several days.

Before a migraine begins some people go through an aura. This aura indicates flashes of light, tingling in limbs, craving for food, irritability, or feeling of depression.

Diet plays an important role in preventing migraine attacks. Chocolates, Cheddar and Parmesan cheese, red wine, food containing MSG (monosodium glutamate), ice cream, buttermilk, yogurt, and flavor-enhanced food trigger it.

Magnesium deficiency leads to headaches. Almonds, cashew, peanut butter, eggs, milk, sesame, and sunflower seeds are rich sources of magnesium. So, people suffering from migraine or headaches can include this in their daily diet.

Orange, sweet potatoes, carrots, ginger, spinach, brown rice, and natural sweeteners and flavors like maple syrup and vanilla extract are “pain safe” food.

Weekly massage reduces migraine frequency and provides a night of sound sleep. Acupressure and yoga reduces anxiety, reduces stress hence prevents migraine attacks.

Now time to take your leave. Will meet you next week with a more interesting and healthy topic, till then, take care.

Loads of love. Stay healthy, stay safe.
